When speaking about Clear Ribbon Foundation,
"Being a young widow is about as lonely of a feeling as you can have. Not only are you without your spouse, but you feel like nobody understands what you're going through. The pace of life doesn't feel sustainable keeping all the plates spinning with kids, school, and activities, not to mention the responsibilities around the house. You feel like you are wandering around in a fog. You can't see more than a few hours in front of you, much less days, weeks, months or years ahead. Trying to explain that to people who don't understand is impossible. And, even then, you usually wish someone could understand just a little bit. That's where we come in. We provide the network everyone wishes they had. We are the people that "get it". When others want to help but don't know what to do, we are privileged to step in. I can't think of a more mission-critical way to serve and love others in the way we've experienced while living out Kirsten's legacy doing it.
